Flexible & Accessible Workshops that Inspires Hands-On Creativity!
At Makers of Imaginary Worlds, we turn everyday materials into extraordinary creative experiences! Our workshops encourage curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on exploration through art, technology, and sensory play. We have delivered workshops since 2016 , we worked with Lakeside Arts, Sense Charity, QUAD, Theatre Hullabaloo, City Arts (care homes), and Broadway Cinema, Rosehill School, Milford Academy and several other schools in Nottingham as part of the Creativity Collaborative projects . Since 2020 we have developed early years workshops to support creative bonding between parents and their babies.. Here some examples of workshop we have delivered..
Creative Play Session
Designed for young children, this series of workshops transforms simple white cardboard packing boxes into a world of creativity. The blank boxes serve as a canvas for exploration, encouraging co-creation, experimentation, and play.
Story Scrolls
Inspired by ancient Japanese handscrolls, this workshop allows parents and caregivers to create beautiful, tactile story scrolls to bring sensory storytelling to life.
Tinker with Puppets
Create your own felt puppet with light-up eyes! Using conductive thread and simple circuits, children will learn the basics of e-textiles while designing their unique character. Take-home
tinker with E-Bugs
Build bugs that light up and move using pipe cleaner circuits, squish circuits, and vibration sensors. Children will explore motion and movement in a playful, hands-on environment.
School's Project - Making Connections
Inspired by our interactive installation Thingamabobas, this workshop programme ( 2022) brings design thinking and tinkering to life through hands-on exploration. We delivered in two schools—one in Hong Kong and one in Nottingham—this project encouraged children to experiment, build, and problem-solve in playful and inventive way
